Location: Singapore
We're still on an early wake-up schedule. Though I turned in early last night, by 0400 this morning there was no more sleep to be had.

The early morning was spent doing various odd jobs, blogging, reading, etc., basically anything to keep busy. By 0900 we headed to breakfast, same place, same food options, but this time I filled a plate with Veggie Spring Rolls, Chicken Yam Dumplings, Nasi Goreng, Fried Noodles, Rice and Fish in Oil. I even picked up a set of chop sticks. So what do you think of that? One day in town and no one would recognize me as a tourist.

As a follow-up to the wayward cards found in our bag, we did hear back from one of the teachers. This morning we collected the cards, both Hallmark and handmade varieties, and mailed them off to Tulsa, Oklahoma from where, assuming they arrive, they will be sent on to the rightful recipient now living somewhere in Asia; hopefully a good ending to a strange case.
With a list of targeted tourist sites gleaned from our Singapore Walking Tour App we proceeded to hire a guide for a few hours to drive us around the city highlighting the landmarks and other significant attractions that we had identified. Our tour guide Bobby Huat was well versed in the King's English and Americanese as well; he picked us up in what is a typical Singaporian tour car, a well kept Mercedes outfitted with water for the grueling tour we were about to undertake. In Little India, Merlion Park and Mount Faber we dismounted our "steed" and briefly walked for better views and to "mix" with the locals; that may be a stretch for where we were, we encountered mostly tourists, near clones of ourselves. Here's a list of what we saw today with links providing the details, we didn't go in to many of the attractions but did get a glimpse:

While atop Mount Faber we could see the cruise ship terminal and got a glimpse of what will be our home for the next four plus weeks as the Nautica was moored for debarkation/embarkation, fueling and provisioning, readying itself for our arrival.
After returning to the hotel, DISASTER struck; Sheila lay down for a minute or two and woke up 6 hours later, I wasn't much different but did get out to the local 7-Eleven for a comforting bottle of Coke Zero before returning to the room and also lying down for a minute or two, aka 3 hours. Clearly that is not a good thing to do at mid-afternoon if one has any intention of getting the body onto local time.
So now the clocks had raced ahead to 2100 if we were to do anything tonight it was time to get moving. Our decision was made, it would be a light appetizer dinner and drinks in the hotel's Kaspia Bar where a lounge duo was performing songs mostly of the 80's-90's "lounge" genre. For our appetizer dinner we had Tandoori Chicken and Chicken & Mutton Satay accompanied by a local green bottled drink for Sheila, that would be Perrier, and several Hendrick's G&T's (with cucumber) for me, more anti-malarial medication.
By midnight the day was over in more ways than one!
